I believe it's clear enough, I keep a link to the external gallery the same way as they do in the original content. They may have a reason, like statistics, copyright, improve loading times as it have tons of pictures (46 images in this example). As they don't load the complete gallery I believe it's not critical. Furthermore, the images I took for the preview are not the thumbnails as I managed to get the original ones.

I hope that "I do better" is not a reason to drop a template, but to represent the content right and respect the guidelines and AFAIK there's no rule for this scenario.
