I'm sorry, in that issue I didn't know the existance of the <pic> tag, and as soon as i found out I fixed the template, images inside tables are actually supported.

In this case the problem is not the image, there is a table inside a table, this is really a complex table that is not supported, in fact the element is marked with "@unsupported" in the ...after part

While the issue creator (kk) might have solved the issue with this specific site, there might be more complex sites which would break because of something like that.

Apart from that we are talking about a site from 1999 - not really a target page. These old articles barely get shared via Telegram anyway.
