Also the articles are one from the 2016 and the other 2017, and I never encountered any page with such caption, even less critical.

You should do the work instead of the script if possible.
Many galleries are not shown without a script.
But they need to be supported.
Or images are loaded from attribute.
We have to put it (@data-src -> @src)
etc.
