I use @inline for every slide of slideshow because this thumbnails open different URL on click. Other way that used by templates 16 & 24 is URL modyfing (thumbnail -> big pic). It will provide losing captions which are presented on slide pages. There are 34 photos in slideshow, @inline limit - 30.
