On this site the common structure of an article is: - title - leading paragraph (may be absent) - main image So this image always goes before the main text of an article. When a leading paragraph is absent, this image is even right after the title. SO: - the image is never several paragraphs deep - the image is frequently right after the title - the image is always used in opengraph-markup as preview image - the image is always used if other page features it (e.g. in the catalog of articles, or block of popular articles). It serves a purpose of a margin to a following text. But in this case - the image was used as a cover and empty paragraph, which should be after image now just consumes vertical space without any purpose. :) We cann't remove this empty paragraphs because for this paragraphs have not any class or idintify atribute so i don't want risk for removing any content like this <p><b>hello world !!!</b></p> because it is too return empty text when you try @remove: //p[string-length(./text())=0]. i am sure it is not critical...
