Cover image was taken from within the article body and that broke an image sequence.

This is an inappropriate usage of cover image according to:

6.2.2 Cover images
The chosen image appears several paragraphs deep into the article and it is technically possible to reliably catch this.

A note for admin: an issue regarding this page was accepted for my template, and I believe that was by mistake:

Note that my template uses slideshow to represent sequences of images, because this website sometimes have rather long image sequences.

According to the checklist this is a valid usage of slideshow, though optional:

6.2.3 Galleries and slideshows
f there are several ordinary images/videos/GIFs following each other in the source, you can also convert them into a slideshow, but this is purely optional.

The practice of taking the cover image from within the article body interferes with the author's intent. It quite often leaves text referring to the image that is no linger there.

In this particular case, the first paragraph is introductory and does not contain spoiler. But after that point in the article spoilers begin, hence the warning image.
