- No, it would not be resized that badly, because after the tapping image it would show original, after all. Also, there are images we both put inside the footer, if it had the ?w= you would rewrite it to 1280 px even if it's smaller in original size and then you'd use <pic> on it.
PS. I wrote in plural form, it was a "hundreds" not "hundred".

image 128x128 will be resized by telegram, so it anyway will be ugly. This issues is not about other elements(embed or else) in this article, it is example, that it is possible target article to contain high resolution image and when new articles with hi-res images will be appear, your template will not handle it. "I checked hundreds of articles so far and haven't met that issue until now." Hundred of articles on this domain it is really small number, it is only 10 search pages.
