The Instant View Editor uses a three-column layout, so you really want to use it on a desktop screen that's wide enough. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Unfortunately, I've found out how to align these captions to their photos too late. However, wrapping pictext distinguishes it from the rest content and it's better than nothing
