- I think it is not necessary. There are no rules in the checklist for this case.
This site has a lot of highlighted text and they all have different classes and attributes. So it is impossible to reliable identification.
For example, most of this page is all composed of highlighted text:

With the <mark> element the article from the link above will look bad in IV.

The Checklist can't possibly cover every single instance. It set's the general rule: "All essential content must be presented on the Instant View page".
This block has special formatting, that has a counterpart in IV format. Not preserving it is not different from removing boldness from bold text.
