Possibly the template for set a meta-description for articles is the title + excerption (from Wordpress editor).

There is no rule in the checklist about the description content order for some exceptions, so I do not think this is a critical Issue:
"If a short description exists in the source, it must be used for the link preview (OpenGraph descriptions, lead sections, etc.)."
