It is improper to denote the summary as being part of sidebar, yes, it is displayed on the lateral side on desktop versions, but on the bottom side of the mobile version. Do note that some websites also place summaries and pull quotes on the side, but that does not make them "true" sidebar content (like widgets, extra navigation, etc.)

I believe there is no proof needed to determine that this is in truth a summary of the article, but if there is, check the class name. Screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/GEAGl6w.png

Thus, I do not find any problem with it being set as subtitle.
