- First, the image is under title, so it's not really a must to set it as cover, also, there're already cases https://instantview.telegram.org/contest/eastafricamonitor.com/template10/issue1/ showing you might leave its caption alone, and that would be a valid issue (similar to this one https://instantview.telegram.org/contest/businessinsider.co.za/template89/issue2/). Since we can't reliably identify image with its caption, why not just leave it in the body? You already have this missing caption issue here https://instantview.telegram.org/contest/eastafricamonitor.com/template9/issue1/, not sure why you would still insist turning them into figure with figcaption.
About those images without `@src`, I don't think it's our responsibility to fix them. But let's wait admin's decision here.

2) The site contains a sufficient number of articles in which the cover does not have @src. In such cases, the image should be removed:
