Okay, look. I had a similar problem before. If you do something like this, okay, but.
1. You did not indicate that this is a link to the video.

No one will understand that this is a link to the video. Because there is a triangle in the image, and there is nothing in the link that says that this video. So it makes no sense and it becomes a normal link for the user, which means nothing to the user, although this video is part of the content.

2. And you could attach @href attribute to the image

I was told by the decision of Admin to put a link in caption, so I did. There is also link at the bottom, which this site tend to use. I am not sure if link directly on image would help, I thought about it, but there is no indication on the image (as you mentioned) to click it. Caption is probably enough, like Admin said.
