This pagination is not actually usable on mobile IV.
I think it's better to use table instead of aside for paginations like this.
Because the space that provided between links is not good enough for Mobile Users usage and it's a very important thing for UX.
My template provides a better user experience. Check it out.

Have you tried using it on mobile? I did and it works fine. I can click the numbers properly. Speaking of UX, your template using table as pagination -- they need to scroll it before they need to click the last number of pagination. Which I don't think is a good UX.

The issue that you provided clearly doesn't have space between the page number that's why it is an issue versus to my template which does have space in between them.

And one last thing, the pagination is inspired by one of Pavel T.'s template.
