OK, "v" attribute contains YouTube ID and script on source page (video/?v=...) contains rules to display YouTube videos.
BUT do you really know how it works on server side?
Imagine the situation, when script authors will concretise video source and will add new attribute. For example, "/video?source=vimeo&v=..." or "source=dailymotion" or something else. If it happens, your template will still show youtube videos with incorrect id's.
It's dirty hack, i think.
