Should be set as cover. its class has "field--name-field-cover-image"

- Nope, it's not safe, at least on this site. For example, on this page https://www.forces.net/services/gurkhas/10-things-you-need-know-about-gurkhas, they have caption under the photo, but there's no reliable way to attach that caption to photo, if you set that photo as cover, you will have a caption losing its context. That would be a valid issue just like this one https://instantview.telegram.org/contest/businessinsider.co.za/template89/issue2/. That's why I do not set those images with "field--name-field-cover-image" as cover.
