- Although having links, thus navigation, between pages would be a good idea I do not think this should be basis for rejecting the template.
Navigation should be considered as an issue only if essential, and in this case it is arguably not. Additionally, from an UX point of view, making the photo a link with no visual indication of what it does (does it open the image full screen or go to a different page?...) makes little sense for me.
