§6.2.3: "EXCEPTION! Slideshows must not be used: [...] When the article consists entirely of a slideshow (and its caption/description) and there's no other content."

By its very title, this is a gallery page meaning that it has no other content than an introductory paragraph and a small footer at the bottom. The slideshow should be unwrapped.

No, the checklist says that slideshow must not be used only if the article consists ENTIRELY of a slideshow and there is NO OTHER CONTENT. In this case there is a paragraph and a footer, so it is correct to use the slideshow.
