Your method would work if there was just an unsupported media player.
look in the code, there is a two-step dynamic addition of content to the page. Even if when the media player is supported in IV, the content itself will not be generated because the scripts are disabled in IV.

It is better to implement support for videos that are loaded using a script. If IV will support this widget in the future, everything in your template will work out of the box.
