- There's no any bug here. We must remove anything that's not essential.
You prefer to generate no IV for such cases, the other guy prefer to use third party service to insert images representing the colors.
But the proper solution is as easy as that:
the whole article and the table in particular are about colors' names. There's no any mention of their visual appearance. So, that column can be considered not essential, taking into an account that colors also can't be supported in the IV page.

You cannot remove a column from a table. The user will not see because of this color swatches.
