Liverpool Manager Kenny Dalglish Warns “Facebook Generation” Over Instant Success Desire
Saturday, 26th November, 2011 Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has warned that achieving success is not going to come overnight for the Anfield side. Dalglish believes that the rise of social networking, with the so-called "Facebook generation" has made fans more impatient and, without a pot of gold equivalent to Manchester City and their Middle Eastern millions, Liverpool must build more slowly."In this world, patience is something that’s in short demand with social networking – most things are instantaneous", Dalglish told Liverpool’s official site. "But getting success in football doesn’t work like that", added the Scot. Dalglish, who came to Liverpool’s rescue after the disastrous reign of Roy Hodgson, can also not praise the club’s owners, Fenway Sports, enough, pointing out that he has received superb financial support."We’ve had fantastic support financially from the owners, which is really important because if you want to move forward you need finance. "They’ve given everything they can financially to help improve the team. "Although we’ve not spent as much as Manchester City or some other people, we’ve certainly spent as much as we possible could. "There is no way anybody wants this football club running up bad debt, so the owners have done the maximium we could have expected financially.
