Actually the publishing date of the article was not overlooked, but since the date is not in unixtime format (it's in Persian calendar system in the original page meta data) the IV rendering algorithm ignores the content of the "published_date" property.

At the time that this template was created the IV builtin function @datetime could not convert Persian dates into unixtime format. It now supports the conversion and so I've made the changes to address the publishing date issue.
