- Simple two-column tables like this are best handled with the first element highlighted in bold and followed by a semi-colon. This template doesn't handle them in a perfect way so far. The issue is valid.

I don't think so. You converted table into normal text, but the structure is not clear. How should one guess that the first bold text is the title of the first lines, and the second bold text is the title of the second lines? It's not evident.
Even if we assume this is not critical for this page, it can be critical for other pages where you do the same operation. (If, of course, you didn't set "?path" for just this one page, which doesn't seem like a proper thing to do.)
