- There's no "correct" place to put it since gallery is in sepparate block to left of article text.

And on PC (thaks to responsive design) it displays to the left of article title, so what?
Since it is out of article body I think it is fine to append it to the start of article (site has no no other images under headline or any covers), you've digged deep to find article where it produces arguable result — 2013.
Pick any recent article and see that it's absolutely logical to put these slideshows under title/as cover. For example three most recent articles:

The text at the bottom of the article says "GUARDA LA PHOTO-GALLERY QUI SOTTO!" that means "Look at the photo-gallery below:"
