I've checked 50 pages
21 haven't text after slideshow
15 behind paywall
5 with 1 paragraph of text
9 pages have more that 1 paragraph after slideshow
and 70% of them have rich captions for each image.
To me that obvious slideshow is main media for these type of pages.
And according to rules it should not be converted to slideshow:

But I'd not rely on the og:type. Main content of the article is not gallery. Just imagine how long user have to scroll to get to main content. That might be unacceptable.
