- Agreed, both image and text are the part of one element, so I think this figcaption can be styled reliably

- While it is true that captions must be preserved where possible, this website doesn't seem to use any particular formatting for them. Captions appear rarely and are sometimes a img and text inside a center, sometimes a em inside a center, sometimes a center inside a em.
