"When several image resolutions are available, the IV page should use better quality images (within reason)."
This one has a higher-quality version that's much more legible (from 359×520 to 552×800, see template #20).
T•m
1 - Higher dimensions does not imply a better resolution.
2 - Main content is showing the same image.
3 - I believe that rule is valid when we are talking about big differences like comparing the original one with its thumbnail.

I am still seeing the 359×520 picture instead of the 552×800 one.
Their previews may look the same on a low-resolution medium, simply open them at full size.
Their 'alt' attributes (set to the URL of the respective source images) are also different:
https://images.midilibre.fr/api/v1/images/view/5c615ac48fe56f3438558413/full/image.jpg
vs
https://images.midilibre.fr/api/v1/images/view/5c615ac48fe56f3438558413/original/image.jpg
Note that the second one may get slightly downscaled by the IV engine, while still remaining much more readable than this one. If you can't tell the difference we're probably witnessing a bug in the platform.

According to 2.4 - https://instantview.telegram.org/checklist#2-4-inaccessible-pages
Pages under paywall must NOT generate IV.
Dario
"2.4. Inaccessible pages
Pages that are fully or partially behind a paywall."

If the paywall is so ineffective (like in this case where the same template works seamlessly for free and 'paid' articles alike), then it can be said that the page is not really "behind" anything, and for sure it isn't "inaccessible".

Broadly speaking, the Instant View 'motto' appears to be: do what the users want, not what website owners want. To me, avoiding a dull paywall (simply by not running JavaScript) is not unlike removing ads: most publishers would think of it as an unacceptable loss of revenue, yet in Instant View it's the rule.
Declined by admin
1) For me there is no paywall
2) the 2.4 checklist point rather is about websites where instead of the article, a paywall notifications is being shown. If the article's content can still be fetched although there is a paywall, it's fine to generate IV

It's not a blockquote in the original article, just embedded text. The very same style can be seen, for example, in https://www.midilibre.fr/2018/12/24/rugby-pour-kelian-galletier-du-mhr-les-mecs-ne-lachent-pas,5993819.php so it's not possible to identify every one of these items as a quote.

Footers must be removed <footer class="txt-note"/>
https://instantview.telegram.org/checklist#4-content-to-be-removed
Dario
I don't think so. Midi Libre happens to use footers extensively to convey useful information. A few examples:

https://www.midilibre.fr/2019/02/13/memoire-de-la-cite-gens-de-lunel-artistes-parlent-de-liberte,8011353.php - full program of the event

https://www.midilibre.fr/2019/02/13/millau-le-forum-de-lemploi-saisonnier-se-prepare,8012997.php - contact information for bids

https://www.midilibre.fr/2018/12/24/et-si-le-palais-des-sports-ne-se-faisait-pas-a-frontignan,5993610.php - explaining a word from the article body, I'd say it's even essential in that case

That use of the word "footer" in the guidelines means site footers (on this site: <footer class="main-footer"/>)

It's a lead paragraph and according to 6.1.4 - https://instantview.telegram.org/checklist#6-1-4-lead-paragraph
It's advisable to leave it in the body formatted in bold or italic.

Should become subtitle i guess
Dario
The lead paragraph is not a subtitle.

https://instantview.telegram.org/checklist#6-1-4-lead-paragraph

Many publications use a slightly different style for their lead paragraphs. Unlike subtitles and summaries, the lead paragraph is a part of the article's text. Even if the lead uses a different style from the rest of the text, it is less desirable to present it as a subtitle — but this is not critical.

Generally, it is advisable to avoid setting too much text as the subtitle. If the website publishes summaries that take an entire paragraph or even multiple paragraphs, it's better to use italic/bold text instead of the subtitle element to represent this content in IV.

See: https://instantview.telegram.org/contest/midilibre.fr/template22/issue2/

Also, if this whole block were turned into a blockquote, the real blockquote inside ("Il n'y a aucun doute que des gens sont morts après s'être vus prescrire ces produits de façon inappropriée") would make the page unsupported because "Element <blockquote> is not supported in <blockquote>".

This does not work all the time. E.g. in this article it makes your template abort with an error while my template works fine:
https://www.midilibre.fr/2019/01/04/fc-sete-le-directeur-sportif-invite-a-profiter-de-linstant-present,7075664.php

Even when it works, quite often they're not actually the same images in higher resolution but separate versions with very different aspect ratio.
Compare e.g.:

"When several image resolutions are available, the IV page should use better quality images (within reason)."
This one has a higher-quality version that's much more legible (from 885×500 to 1103×1028, see templates #48 and #51).
Dario
As you can see, the picture you used is not a "higher-quality version" but a totally different crop.
It is not even linked from the original article. In a way, you have "added your own content". Remember that "The resulting IV page may not contain any content not present in the original".
Declined by admin
1. The reporter's template obtains the resolution by src modification, that's not a safe way to do it.
2. Sometimes the reporter's template obtains images that are too big for IV (3240x2160 pixels here:https://www.midilibre.fr/2019/03/18/gilets-jaunes-stop-les-commercants-en-ont-marre,8075610.php)
3. In this template image is cropped in the more suitable way for IV cover (square cover doesn't look so good).
