- pardon, but you give a bad example. In this strange example even line breakes were missed. in my case all is good and all is thoughtful:
a) line breaks exists,
b) second level is marked with italic font,
c) after "Upon consensus" with ":" and two italic font items (just two!) everybody can understand what is what here, I am sure.
And I don't think that asteriks inside text is much better and better at all in this case.

- it's so pity that finally from two templates you choose the one where publication date is without time,
multiple empty paragraphs at the end of articles are not removed and meaningful empty lines in blockquotes are not saved.
and this is all just because in the other template nested list has only light marking of italic font

- I'm afraid, your choice of formatting for nested lists is less readable than the more widespread solution adopted in Template #5.
We've checked a few dozen articles on the website and couldn't find any evidence of missing meaningful empty lines in template #5 E.g. this page seems ok: https://instantview.telegram.org/contest/moneyandstate.com/template5/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fmoneyandstate.com%2Fthe-true-cost-of-bitcoin-transactions%2F
