I think the numbering is important since the article says "the eight steps" and the reader will be expecting 8 steps, so we should add in the numbers.

Don't know what you're talking about. The numbers are displayed in Telegram as they supposed to.
And btw, anchors are only visible in the IV editor for debugging purposes. They are invisible in app.
