Authors on this website are pretty rare but page layout is the same for 2011 and now. And even last published pages' layout provide place for author so it's better to handle that. For example on http://www.nakanune.tv/news/2019/04/01/rudkovskaya_sobiraetsya_pereimenovat_mladshego_sina/ is string "15:43 Екб | Москва |". Last "|" symbol means possible author name after it.
But maybe you're right and admins recall their decision. We'll see
