I marked the place where they appear in the source as well as anchor links in the text. The site uses JS to enhance footnotes by showing them alongside the text as floating elements, but in IV we should preserve them by handling them as anchor links. Footnotes section at the bottom has corresponding "footnote-x" id's.
It's suitable to place footnotes at the bottom right after "References" and give them a sub-title similar to "References". The section has id "footnotes", so "Footnotes" will do nicely.
