And I have absolutely no idea how you managed to teach the template to check whether text makes sense or not.

What I mean to say is, trying to be clever about this is pointless. All it does is working around some manually checked cases. What it does not do is improving user experience in any way.
What we have here is a controversial issue of handling this particular part of byline that has varied content and no marking. What we need is a decision: remove or keep. Not attempts to have it both ways.
