Issue #1
Meta tags of original page provide real page description which not duplicate article text. But your template use text from article for preview description which is less suitable. So your template in fact lose page description

- Meta tags on this site are unreliable to use for a description, unfortunately:
• twitter:description sometimes coincides, partly or entirely, with the page title (https://www.newsroom.co.nz/@technology/2018/08/06/177372/facebooks-free-speech-problem, https://www.newsroom.co.nz/@combat-sports/2017/04/07/18364/in-the-footsteps-of-giants-the-young-kiwi-fighters-going-global);
• og:description sometimes contains the site description instead of the article description (https://www.newsroom.co.nz/2017/12/07/66498/3m-lakeside-lodge-planned-for-crown-land, https://www.newsroom.co.nz/@combat-sports/2017/04/07/18364/in-the-footsteps-of-giants-the-young-kiwi-fighters-going-global) or is meaningless (https://www.newsroom.co.nz/@corporate-newsroom/2018/11/12/317789/how-trump-and-a-strong-economy-could-push-interest-rates-up).
For this reason, we have to use a description prepared from the beginning of the article text.
