- 1. They are same images. First one has black blocks by sides to make image square.
2. Check url of images. My image's link same but contains /large/.
It is logical to assume that the first link will always contain larger image.
Let's check photos from this article's gallery. Compare this

3. I used @inline function to get caption and credits from gallery page. So I use images' links from inlined page. You also have photos captions, so you also used this function. But you use link for the image from the original article, not from inlined page. It's dangerous to do that.

- In the original article images with better resolution are displayed. Compare:

There's no reason to inline images with lower resolution from slideshow in this case. Also it's acceptable to not inline captions, if a link to the slideshow is preserved like in the original article.

- But the other two templates use the original photo, but caption is from the inlined page. This is dangerous, the link may not contain the same image in this case. If we have to use original images, then the description should not be loaded.
