- Unfortunately there is no way to convert these images. Still, IV is fully consistent with the page: small pictures when you click lead to a full-size image. Admins, in my opinion it is better to generate a page than to block a huge number of site content

- Regarding the exception for when slideshows should not be used, that is a valid issue here.
As for small images, that's a duplicate of issue #1 on this template.

When the article consists entirely of a slideshow (and its caption/description) and there's no other content.
And if images are in low quality page must not be generated
