If the article uses images/videos/GIFs with captions as the main medium, those images should not be presented as a slideshow (e.g.: travel blogs that show many photos with captions, step-by-step crafting guides, cooking recipes, etc.). I am not creating a slideshow out of article images. I am creating a slideshow out of article slideshow. The rule you referenced doesn't apply for this case, since it's nothing like the things you mention. And if you check the first paragraph of that rule, you can see that it's actually mandatory to create slideshow for this kind of content.
