The Instant View Editor uses a three-column layout, so you really want to use it on a desktop screen that's wide enough. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Issue #1

IV must be generated for this page
Elian Doran
It seems to be "Resource fetch failed: https://static.politifact.com/rulings/tom-pantsonfire.gif" error, but if one scrolls past the error the GIF is already there.

@Admin, could this be a glitch of the platform or the cache?
Accepted by admin
Yes, it's an IV Editor (visible) bug. Should hopefully be fixed soon.

The reason why this fails is because gif is being used in <pic>. This is not possible and shouldn't be done by template creators. You can use <video> and I think <img> for gifs.

Sorry for the inconveniences.

@Admin, thank you very much for response. But what I cannot understand is that if it should hopefully be fixed soon and it is an IV Editor (visible) bug, then why should the template be rejected?

The IV preview renders just fine, including the GIF in the <pic>, meaning that the template does nothing wrong. Once IV developers solve this particular NO_MEDIA_FOUND error thrown by GIFs in <pic>s it would work out of the box.

The competing template author has used what appears to be a bug in the IV as leverage for declining this template, which seems rather unfair.

Mentioned visible bug is "no media found" error, not that GIF doesn't work in <pic>. They shouldn't work in <pic>.

So the problem of this template is the GIF wrapped in <pic> instead of <img>. Note that <pic> must be used only for icons.
