- While i agree with you about this particular case, it can't be formatted as <related> as they use same markup for anything. Look at this one article for example: https://www.polygon.com/features/2016/11/16/13596478/the-ups-downs-and-future-of-tomonobu-itagakis-devils-third How would you distinguish sidebars and <related>? Both can have links and there is no way to do it. About formatting: it is perfectly fine to separate these blocks with <hr> from main content. What approach is better is controversially. Also these articles from 2016 and site doesn't use this formatting anymore

These blocks are just "calls" to other articles, which are best formatted as <related> elements.
Since these blocks also have image and text, <details> could be used to avoid breaking the main content with these rulers.
