1. thumbnail is used as link preview image instead of full size one 2. list of thumbnails formatted as a table won't fit in any screen if there are more than a few of them. user will have to scroll it horizontally - that's a bad UX
Agree with thumbnail, but formatting this list as table lets you highlight the current document using <th>
