The Instant View Editor uses a three-column layout, so you really want to use it on a desktop screen that's wide enough. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I'm not sure where that period comes from.

In general, pages with content that is just a single image should still generate an IV. We do not recommend such pages use the photo as the cover though.
