Supporting content from these widgets is optional since it will eventually become available through official means.
There seems to be no way to convert this link into an iFrame (the iFrame generated by JS has no @src), and this type of link is the only proposed way to embed a Twitter Timeline:

So, the link is preserved and Timelines will be supported in the future. Even it’s an issue, I believe it’s not critical because they don’t use Timelines since 2017 (0 articles); currently they use journali.st instead.
