Check original page - image not available, wrong image src, that's their mistake.
Not our job to fix their mistakes because we can break essential rules.

You tried to fix that with removing "-620x350" from src (probably with regex), but that's not a good solution.
The result - image on Link Preview is missing on many articles.

Probably image preview is from meta tags.
But fixing that isn't a good solution and because of another problem.

All is wrong.
As you can see - your fix doesn't work properly.
Leave it as is because fixing their mistakes you make mistake on IV.
