- The author doesn't specify the highlighted text as caption for the preceding image in the markup. Furthermore the alt-text is meaningless.

- Sometimes photo captions appear this way on today.it (e.g. http://www.today.it/citta/arrestata-mamma-neonato-morto-settimo-torinese.html) Tommaso's template seems to handle them well. Feel free to submit issues if you find that that approach is causing any problems.
