The image you selected in my template (not the slideshow, but the one from the body of the article) is already the highest quality from source code. Your link is hand edited to grab the better quality image, but is not offered in srcset or anywhere else in that selected image element. It is a bad practice to hand edit URLs because inevitably you're going to break something.
