Photo gallery shouldn't be converted to slideshow as described in Checklist 6.2.3:

EXCEPTION! Slideshows must not be used:

When the article consists entirely of a slideshow (and its caption/description) and there's no other content.

Also you shouldn't remove the link to the slideshow - it might be useful

2. Link to slideshow is not required, because used slideshow on this page.
3. Link to slideshow is not working in IV, therefore a slideshow is needed, else user will not see the promised slideshow
