If you really think that this widget isn't essential, I can find a few more similar cases for you, where you removed an "inessential" widget.

This widget (poll) is directly related to the article. The poll question is the same as the article title. I want to vote and see the poll results.

Also, If the widget was removed, why text above isn't?

It is arguable how important this widget is. Though if the widget is not kept then this text makes no sense and should be deleted too.
