The Instant View Editor uses a three-column layout, so you really want to use it on a desktop screen that's wide enough. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Is it OK to add your own images like this?

I would use Unicode symbols if there were ones for half-stars, but there are none, so I'm using base64 images.

It looks like the source page uses .svg for these icons. Unfortunately, .svg images are not supported by IV and would cause the IV to not be able to generate.

So this seems like a reasonable way to support the icons.
