In the original page, the "Show discount code" button opens a new page presenting the discount code (also available in the data-clipboard-text attribute) to the reader.
In the IV version, the "Show discount code" link leads to the store page (just like the "Buy" link) without providing any obvious ways to take advantage of the discount.

Yeah, because the discount is no longer valid. You can see that in the url there is still the code but prolly it is expired. Article is from 2+ months ago. PS. The promo code cant be removed safely, there are already more discussed issues about that with reasons. Moreover the content ifself is static.
