- It opens full-screen with a lot of room for multi-layered text content for each slide.
Each slide in fact is a section that has a title and multi-line description to the left and the actual figcaption at the bottom of the images.
Cramming it all into slideshow figcaptions will mix the actual figcaption with the rest of text and worsen UX considerably. The structure is just too complex for a <slideshow>.
Also, taking into account the multi-section structure of the article, this slideshow is pretty much the main (and only) medium of the second section (starts with "See New Music Releases for September 2018" title, the first section talks about sneakers).
