Issue #2
Possible to get higher resolution from attribute "data-orig-file"
- Andrew A.
- Nah, you should never use @data-orig-file on WordPress sites. By design, @data-orig-file is used for keeping the original (unprocessed, uncropped) version of the image. That alone is enough for not using it in IVs, but the outcome can be even worse (see the example 1 below).
Here are two examples of issues you can run into by using @data-orig-file:
1. instantview.telegram.org/contest/hola-tlalnepantla.com/template22/issue1/
See the appeal, p. 2. Here, a guy has used @data-orig-file and ended up swapping images in one of the articles.
2. instantview.telegram.org/contest/ausdroid.net/template46/issue1/
instantview.telegram.org/contest/ausdroid.net/template46/issue2/
The site editors decided (!) to use a cropped version. The template creator replaced it with uncropped from @data-orig-file and broke IV in some cases because of a huge size.
I should note that this image is contained also in @data-large-file which I deem safe, but the reader can't see it on the site anyway, so we'll be adding our own content.
